Socios is the kind of company that ceaselessly paves the way for blockchain technology. Not a month passes without the news about new partnerships involving this company. And now it has got into fighting – for the good of blockchain.
The UFC welcomes Chiliz
Socios.com and its brainchild Chiliz have made yet another step on their way to becoming a blockchain powerhouse in the sports industry. In fact, the magnitude of this business arrangement is so great that it could be called not a step by a giant leap straight to the octagon.
On May 7, Chiliz made an announcement through the official social media channels regarding a new global partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the largest mixed martial arts promotion company in the world that organizes and broadcasts the bouts between elite fighters. As per the agreement, the cryptocurrency Chiliz (CHZ) will become an official payment vehicle of UFC.
By virtue of CHZ, and the proprietary blockchain-based application for voting and rewards, devised by Socios.com, fans will be given an opportunity to obtain tickets to all upcoming UFC fight nights, including the pre-sale access, exclusive merchandise, and a variety of rewards. The deal was approved by the company’s Twitter followers, who noted that it would attract millions of new users to the platform.
Socios wants to be the biggest of all
Alexandre Dreyfus, the CEO of Socios.com and Chiliz, acknowledged the importance of establishing a partnership with one of the fastest-growing sports & entertainment organizations and, undoubtedly, the most influential participant in the space of martial arts. However, he also noted that the essence of this newly-established relationship with UFC isn’t based solely on the ticketing and rewards. The main objective is to make the fans heard by the corresponding teams and organizations. Dreyfus explained that even before the COVID-19 pandemic, 99% of sports lovers didn’t attend live events, for a variety of reasons, but still passionately supported their favorite teams, players, or fighters, though they always remained silent spectators. But thanks to the blockchain-based fan tokens and Chiliz, both of which are implemented on the Socios platform, the fans now have the opportunity to get actively involved with the teams, whereas the clubs or organizations like UFC can create special experiences and services for them.
Dreyfus boasted that by now, Socios.com was downloaded more than 200,000 times, and he hopes that these numbers will soar in 2020, once the lockdown is being lifted. The CEO revealed that his team devised several marketing strategies, the successful realization of which would allow Socios to hit the million users mark, thus becoming the largest consumer-oriented blockchain company.
This ambitious goal seems to be feasible as Chiliz has already partnered with the number of football clubs that have massive fan bases, namely Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain. The list of partners also includes the esports team OG, as well as the American Major League Baseball (MLB).
